The Government delegate and the president have the V ASTRAPACE regatta of the association (20/05/2009)

The donations will go to the work of the association to provide treatment to people with cerebral palsy

The Government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, director general of People with Disabilities of IMAS, Marisol Morente, and the president of ASTRAPACE, Rosa Garcia Iniesta, presented this morning the V edition of the regatta of the association, organized for the purpose raise funds for the work that it performed to promote the treatment of people with cerebral palsy.

The event also participated the first deputy mayor of Los Alcazares, Isabel Montesinos, and the presidents of the Sailing Federation of the Region of Murcia, Pedro Román, and the Nautical Club of that city, Damián Martínez Olmo.

González Tovar has welcomed this initiative, which since the sport was once again boasts of a solidarity and expressed its full readiness to cooperate with the Association, which will feature performances by Forces for State Security.

He also congratulated the Board ASTRAPACE in the person of its president, for his selfless work as head of the Association and the extraordinary ability to overcome the same each year, developing programs that range from diagnosis and care guidance home, the school attendance of children either in classrooms during the day, supporting and monitoring children in nursery schools and integrated direct attention to specific classrooms, but also treatments such as hydrotherapy and something fundamental, monitoring and support family, including parents with schools.

He noted that "this partnership of parents, takes a comprehensive work to maximize the capabilities of people with cerebral palsy, which also added a set of activities to promote citizen participation, which must also congratulate you, because have been able not only to attract the interest of the citizens but also sensitize us all to the problems of these people, who require awareness and cooperation of all.

The race of the Association for the Treatment of Children with Cerebral Palsy and Related Pathologies began the year ASTRAPACE turned 25 and has since been developing continuously.

It counts with the collaboration of the City of Los Alcazares, of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, which the president is itself Valcárcel Honorary President of the Regatta, and the Government Office itself, as well as support many businesses and individuals both within the Region as of Albacete.

The president of ASTRAPACE reported that the race will be held from next Friday, November 22, and the club organizer and host it is the Mar Menor in Los Alcazares.

Also this year, for the first time, will play a windsurf slalom racers.

He also reported that already confirmed the arrival of the teams Balear, Melilla, Canary Islands, Federation of Valencia, Andalusia and probably some sailors from the Galician Federation, plus all of the Federation of Murcia.

Therefore, it is hoped that this year with a total of 210 dinghy sailors, windsurfers, 30 and 20 cruises.
