UPyD, PSOE, and IU of Los Alcazares accuse the mayor of the PP of "undemocratic" (19/04/2012)

Spokesmen for the three opposition groups in the town of Los Alcazares, Joaquin Menárguez (PSOE), Trinidad Espinosa (UI), and Mario Gomez (UPyD) claimed that the current mayor of the municipality, the "popular" Anastasio Bastida, has a clearly anti-democratic behavior.

The three speakers explained that on Wednesday 17 April "forced" together holding a full, the mayor of PP did not want to be convened to include in the agenda, a point which called for a debate on video recording of the full, and further use.

However, this point was "lying" in full by the Popular Party, which enjoys an absolute majority.

The mayor, Anastasio Bastida, has even declared that, while he is mayor, not record a single image from the full.

For the three speakers, Bastida's attitude is more akin to a dictatorship than a democracy, especially when the three opposition groups do agree that the public has a right to know, transparently, which speak their municipal representatives, and for this the best tool is the full recording and subsequent diffusion.

All this, skipping a second time, a secretariat report which concludes that "the full approval of Mayor correspond to the exercise of its police powers.

By limiting these powers and taking into account recent case law, the ban would be justified only in the particular recording on grounds of obstruction or disruption of normal development of the session, to the extent that the recording machines interfere or hinder the normal development of the same. "

The first time the mayor was "jumped" a secretariat report was concerning the composition of committees informative.

The report states that the principle of proportionality gives the benefit of minority representation and that all groups, no matter how minimal, must be represented in all committees.

Well, ignoring the same, limited to the mixed group (composed UPyD IU-green) to the presence of a single speaker, while having the support of the Socialist group, to which both parties could participate and vote, information on all committees.
