[Los Alc zares receives 1,300,000 euros from the Ministry for the Ecological Transaction, destined to actions and works that reduce the risk of flooding in the municipality (22/12/2020)

Los Alc zares City Council has received € 1,300,000 from the Ministry for Ecological Transactions, earmarked for actions and works that reduce the risk of flooding of urban facilities, buildings, facilities and agricultural holdings or livestock. Among the actions that can be carried out with this direct help, are among others: Acquisition of equipment or materials such as temporary or permanent barriers, bilge pumps or non-return valves; Execution of waterproofing works or redesign of facades; Construction or improvement of perimeter walls; Protection or sealing of gaps (windows, grilles). Protection or transfer of vulnerable facilities (electrical panels, boilers, etc); Other works that make it possible to improve adaptation to risk and increase its resilience. Regarding this concession, which amounts to a total of 3,000,000 distributed among the municipalities of Los Alc zares, San Javier, Cartagena, Torre-Pacheco and San Pedro del Pinatar; the mayor of the town, Mario Cervera has stated that "it is a help that we see with very good eyes since until 2016 the measures to minimize the possible risks of flooding had been fully assumed by the Los Alc zares City Council and its neighbors.
