Statement from the Mayor of Los Alcázares regarding the new COVID measures approved today by the health authorities (07/12/2020)

COMMUNITY OF THE MAYOR Faced with the new measures that are adopted by the health authorities of the Region of Murcia, the Los Alcázares City Council wants to express: That this Mayor's Office has been demanding that the opening of the municipality's hotel industry be made possible, it is true that today a small step has been taken allowing the terraces to be opened, because as we have been saying, this sector is not the cause of the outbreaks COVID detected.Maintaining the perimeter closure of the municipalities of Torre Pacheco and Los Alcázares we understand that it is not the solution to control the pandemic since, as detected, these outbreaks occur in very specific sectors that with these measures will not necessarily reduce contagions. At Los Alcázares we understand that control measures must be increased specifically wherever they are detected and act with specific, almost “surgical” actions that allow effective control of the spread of the virus. After the meeting held in the municipal crisis cabinet this morning; Various measures have been adopted, including physical tracking and monitoring of cases with inspections by the Civil Protection and Local Police services in order to comply with the confinements decreed by health; the implementation of the control of the mobility of buses, vans and vehicles in general that enter and leave the municipality; permanent communication with the labor and health authorities to report the non-compliance that is detected in any company or domicile, initiating disciplinary proceedings against those who fail to comply with the measures. From the City Council of Los Alcázares we ask the competent labor and public health authorities to implement inspection and control measures where an increase in infections is located. The Los Alcázares City Council is distributing masks in affected population sectors, in addition to making available to the regional health and public health system some forty trackers who have already begun their training and who this week will begin to carry out some tasks in this sense. It is still necessary that we continue to comply with the measures that public health indicates to us such as social distancing, hand hygiene and the correct use of masks; Improving the results of pandemic control is everyone's business and for this reason we insist that security measures be respected at all times.Mario Ginés Pérez Cervera Mayor President
