Los Alcázares receives about 1,500,000 euros from the Government of Spain destined exclusively to repair the damage caused by the 'DANA' of September 2019 (02/12/2020)

| The Municipal Government requested this grant to undertake a total of thirty-one actions worth € 3,000,000 | Los Alcázares City Council has received from the Government of Spain a total of 1,479,952.90 euros, which must be used exclusively for the repair and reconstruction of the damage caused to the infrastructure of the municipality caused by the storm 'Dana' in the past September 2019. Specifically, the investment will be distributed among the 31 projects presented by the local administration, which correspond to the following breakdown: Repair of municipal buildings and facilities, among which are: Children's School, Tourism Office, Justice of the Peace, School Hall Pavilion, Adolfo López Center for the Elderly, Nautical Station and Merchants Association, Municipal Warehouse, Multipurpose Rooms and Bar -Cafeteria of the Municipal Sports Center, Basement-Municipal Parking of Los Alcázares, Indoor Pool, Tennis Club and the October 13th Pavilion. Repair works in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento, Paseo de la Feria and annex streets. Patching performances of several streets of the municipality. Replacement of Pavements in Avenida Marqués de Rozalejo. Rainwater Collector on Manuel Acedo Street. Repair of tunnels in Plaza de la Pescadería and Rambla. Reconstruction of the fencing of the Municipal Sports Center and execution of the subsequent perimeter fence. Consolidation and provisional repair of the section of street and wall of the Rambla. Paved in Avenida de la Libertad. Replacement of access doors to the Sports Complex. Conditioning of Alcorques in Paseo Marítimo Emergency actions in the drinking water supply network. Emergency actions in the facilities of the Municipal Buildings. This aid, which the City Council is obliged to allocate exclusively to repairing damage caused after the torrential rains in September 2019, represents 50% of the total investment of the different recovery projects that the City Council will undertake in the coming months ; and it coincides with the same percentage that the Municipal Government will contribute to these actions. Mario Cervera, mayor of Los Alcázares has declared that "the Government of Spain is going to deliver another million and a half euros as a result of the Decree that it approved after the floods of September 2019, which will be specifically destined to the repair of infrastructure damaged by those torrential rains.
