Los Alcázares approves by an absolute majority the municipal budget marked by the health crisis (04/09/2020)

From now on, the City Council will have a budget of more than 23 and a half million to address municipal management in the "new normal" without forgetting the local needs prior to the covid-19 The Los Alcázares City Council held a plenary session yesterday extraordinary with the approval of the Municipal Budget as the only point on the agenda.This plenary session was carried out electronically due to current health regulations, and was able to approve said budget for the year 2020 by an absolute majority, which amounts to a total of 23,517,286.65 euros, 0.45% less than to the year 2019.The budgets this year are marked by the atypical situation that is being experienced throughout the world due to COVID-19, since the budget items that see their expenses increased are an economic boost in order to promote consumption in local businesses and of social policy to face the socioeconomic situation, as explained by the councilor for Finance, Jose Carlos Castejón.Other budgetary measures that have been approved are, the increase of subsidies destined to local sports clubs, since they were seriously affected by the suspension of the previous season and the delay of the current season, fulfilling one of the measures to recover Los Alcazares.On the other hand, the Alcazareño City Council has adopted in terms of Public Employment the creation of new positions for workers with the firm objective of being able to increase public employment to the highest levels in the last 12 years.In Sandiad, Los Alcázares has obtained a greater financial endowment in this item, amounting to 150,000 euros to meet all the expenses produced by the pandemic through a Shock Plan to stop the contagion curve and keep the municipality as the one fewer infections recorded from the Mar Menor.On the other hand, a large part of the budget will be allocated to the implementation of several initiatives to build new playgrounds, calisthenics, canines and a skate park in the municipality.In order to improve accessibility and circulation, it is also intended to fix Jaén Street, located behind the Municipal Sports Center, at a cost of 200,000 euros.These measures are accompanied by budgets that will allow the municipality to recover during these hard times, as explained by Mayor Mario Cervera.The councilor has highlighted, "that despite the circumstances, it has been possible to continue generating public investments for the town, increasing the budget items that directly affect businessmen and families who are having the worst time in these tough times."
