Submarine bottoms inspection brigades will clean Carrión and Manzanares beaches (07/07/2020)

| The municipal government team has succeeded, after numerous efforts for months, that the Coastal Demarcation removed from the beaches the objects derived from the trawls caused by the floods suffered in Los Alcázares a through expert work | The City Council of Los Alcázares will be able to assess in the next few days the opening of two of the beaches that are still closed, Manzanares and Carrión, after the inspection of their underwater funds, since at the moment safety in the bath is not guaranteed in these, by the residues that are in the bottom of the sea due to the drag of the floods.

And is that, the mayor of the municipality, Mario Cervera, has preferred "to make responsible decisions, since the first thing is the safety of neighbors and tourists, despite how important it is for the people that all its beaches are open", has explained. Therefore, the work of the government team has been tireless to ensure that the competent administration assumes its responsibility, and carries out the necessary work through experts, for the subtraction of all the trawling elements that are in the sea due to the past floods. In addition, after several conversations with the Government Delegation, a Maritime Salvage team will also act on the beaches of Los Alcázares. The Councilors for Beaches and the Environment, María José Díaz Aragón and Antonio Luís López Campoy respectively, began to work on the set-up of the beaches and to request the necessary work from other entities long ago, to ensure the summer season, as well as the continuation of the claims by the alcazareño city council, to find a real solution to save the Mar Menor. As explained by municipal sources, unlike the rest of the coastal municipalities, it is not so much the sludge problems of the Mar Menor, but of the trawls coming from the Cartagena countryside, as the silts. Red flag on two beaches Currently the Manzanares and Carrión beaches have a red flag, since these trawls have deposited waste at the bottom of the sea, despite the fact that the sand and the promenade are taken care of thanks to the maintenance work carried out by the town hall, since that these tasks are within the municipal competence. Regarding these works, the Councilor for Beaches, Díaz Aragón, assures that "there are many tasks in maintenance so that our beaches are in optimal condition, therefore, furniture has been replaced, urban elements have been repainted, the promenade has been embellished, signs have been installed for indicate sanitary protocols, and cleaned the sand, because for us, caring for our environment is caring for our neighbors and betting on one of their livelihoods.

" The team led by regidor Mario Cervera, will continue working to return Los Alcázares to their natural state, improving services and fighting to solve problems whose solutions depend on other administrations that hope "they will worry about a town that only wants to go out to float at once.
