Firefighters from the Extinction and Salvage Consortium release intervention masks and a headquarters vehicle for Los Alcázares (26/06/2020)

| In addition, the 15 fire stations will have 256 new helmets to improve safety, resistant to high temperatures and with a fire retardant coating | The Community has provided the Murcia Region Extinction and Salvage Consortium (CEIS) with 300 intervention masks, a leadership car for the Los Alcázares park that replaces another vehicle damaged during DANA interventions, and 256 new protective helmets.

The total investment between material and vehicle amounts to 247,500 euros. The Minister of Transparency, Participation and Public Administration, Beatriz Ballesteros, attended today, at the Molina de Segura fire station, the presentation of these new materials, which will improve the safety of workers and the effectiveness of their work.

"The purchase of these materials is due to the need to reinforce the personal protective equipment (PPE) that firefighters use in the most complicated situations and to provide the troops with the most advanced and updated means in the field of security" Ballesteros explained. The intervention masks are prepared for interior fires and industrial fires, as well as interventions with chemical products, with gas and all those situations that can present themselves with high risk with extreme temperatures, danger from blows or serious tears.

These are high-quality masks, with a viewing angle of 180 degrees, and ozone resistance superior to traditional wetsuits, with easy adaptation of the breathing apparatus. Likewise, the delivery of a vehicle of leadership, model 'Nissan Navara', was made.

It is a 4x4 off-road 4x4 with trailer hitch, with a high propeller air intake (snorkel) that protects the interior and the engine in case of flooding.

It also has side footrests for holding people outside, front winch with 3,600-kilo support, blue LED light bridge with two side modules, speaker and siren amplifier. To these acquisitions are added the 256 new intervention helmets that are already spread across the 15 fire stations.

It is an equipment that meets the highest quality and safety standards for a better performance of your work.

They are made of thermoplastic material resistant to high temperatures and with a fire retardant coating.

In addition, they are prepared for shock absorption, contain a perimeter adjustment harness, have a padded internal padding and a front angle adjustment that guarantees an optimal position of respiratory masks. With them you can act in situations of mechanical, thermal, chemical and electrical hazards, and they incorporate an external fixation for attaching flashlights, allowing greater visibility in interventions.

They have an external face shield with a gold-plated coating and anti-scratch coating, an internal ocular screen, an integrated positioning light on both sides of the helmet, an aluminized neck protector and internal sockets to connect communication systems.
