| The counterfeit products, a total of 15,239 units, would have arrived in different shipments from China, to their final destination, a phone shop in Los Alcázares | The Civil Guard of Alicante has arrested a neighbor from Los Alcázares (Murcia) for being the alleged perpetrator of a crime against industrial property, for selling, in his establishment, allegedly, counterfeit products of top brands, from China. On June 1, agents belonging to the Office of Fiscal Analysis and Investigation (ODAIFI) of the Civil Guard of the Alicante-Elche International Airport, intercepted at Customs a shipment, from China, whose content was telephone accessories. Given the possibility that they were counterfeit products, they were inspected, effectively turning out to be globally recognized counterfeits of leading brands, as later confirmed by legal representatives of said affected brands. In addition, investigating agents also located previous shipments, of similar characteristics, for the same recipient. With all this information, the Civil Guard of Alicante traveled to the town of Los Alcázares (Murcia), to carry out an inspection of the mobile telephone establishment, owned by the recipient of said various shipments, also intercepting more counterfeit products there. Finally, the total of counterfeit mobile phone accessories and components intervened amounted to 15,239 units, which would have obtained a total value of € 569,840 in the market. For all these reasons, the agents arrested the sole administrator of the company, and the recipient of the shipments, a 41-year-old Spaniard, for being the alleged perpetrator of a crime against industrial property. The detainee was released, as an investigator, pending a court summons. It should be noted this important apprehension of counterfeit products, both for the number of effects intervened and for the considerable economic benefit that would have been obtained in the market with its sale, almost 600,000 euros.
