| The Minister for Development visits a group of homes in Los Alcázares where improvement works will be carried out | The Autonomous Community has invested more than 13.7 million euros in the improvement of the social housing stock in the Region of Murcia in the last ten years, which is made up of a total of 2,780 homes.The next intervention will be carried out in a group of 12 houses located in Los Alcázares in order to improve their comfort and correct the water leaks that appeared after the damage in September last year.
This work is included in the program of continuous improvement of the social housing stock, as announced today by the Minister for Development and Infrastructure, José Ramón Díez de Revenga, who visited the homes.Díez de Revenga expressed the commitment of the regional Executive to "continue improving the park of social housing and to implement measures in the field of housing policy to guarantee the permanence of families in their home after the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic."The holder of Development indicated that the Community has exempted the tenants of social housing from paying the rent and has made available an extraordinary line of rental aid covid-19, endowed with 16 million euros.The counselor demanded that "it is urgent that the State make effective the distribution of the 57 million euros granted by Brussels to Spain three weeks ago, from the Solidarity Fund of the European Union." He recalled that the Region has not yet received any amount of the advance of 5.7 million euros that the State received in January."The State has not yet transferred to the Region the 10.7 million euros already invested by the Community and the municipalities in the emergency works after the damage," said the regional official, who recalled that his department has already invested 4, 5 million euros on 70 regional roads damaged by the dana rains, of which there are a total of 40 executed.
