The lousy state of the educational facilities and the poor conditions with which the workers develop their work at the Antonio Menárguez Costa de Los Alcázares High School Institute reflect that the administration has been in a hurry to transfer the idea of normality in the educational centers of the municipality without solving the serious problems that hinder their operation.
The Federation of Education of Workers' Commissions (FECCOO) Region of Murcia has confirmed the dire situation faced by the staff and students of the Mar Menor educational center on Thursday, which makes it difficult to return to work after heavy rainfall that caused great material damage.
Among the many problems are an elevator that will probably be disabled for at least four months causing changes in classes of groups with students with mobility problems;
prefabricated classrooms mounted with tables-chairs and paddle chairs;
the floor of a deteriorated pavilion with subsidence and bambolas, which has forced three groups of students to join three groups of students at the same time on one track.
In addition, the Administration and Services Staff has been located in a small cabin with a single computer for three people.
The faculty room is also in very bad condition with bad tables and old computers that have been brought from the Ministry of Health.
To all this is added that the canteen is unusable.
For this reason, CCOO Enseñanza urges the Ministry of Education to immediately solve the poor state of the facilities of the IES Antonio Menárguez de Los Alcázares.
It seems that the administration has rushed to transfer a false image of normality in the educational centers of the municipality without addressing with the same hurry the serious problems that hinder the teaching activities in them.
