Looije, the agricultural company specializing in cherry tomatoes, has delivered this morning the donations received during the week, on the occasion of the solidarity campaign for the benefit of those affected by DANA.
María Josefa Benzal, Councilor for Civil Protection and Social Policy of the City of Los Alcázares, one of the municipalities most affected by the rains, then received the two Looije workers responsible for transporting the goods collected since Monday, September 23.
The company has valued very positively the results of an initiative in which, totally voluntarily, both warehouse employees, offices and greenhouses, as well as people outside the company have participated.
The campaign began last Monday, with a publication in the press and social networks in which they were urged to collaborate with those affected by the torrential rains that ravaged the Region of Murcia two weeks ago.
More specifically with the citizens of Los Alcázares, where, even today, there are people who cannot return to their homes, uninhabitable by the effects of water and mud.
Throughout this week, therefore, visits to the offices of Looije have not ceased, a place where dozens of Columbians and residents in nearby towns have contributed their grain of sand, through the donation of all kinds of You teach, many of them first hand.
Between the collected in the last days, they emphasize a cradle, a mattress, an iron, baby shoes, diapers, kitchen utensils, pieces of crockery and cutlery, school and office material (in which they are included from infantile backpacks, until notebooks and cases) and an incalculable amount of clothing.
Looije wants to thank the altruistic collaboration of all those who have participated in the initiative, as well as the help and support of the Los Alcázares City Council and, above all, the commendable work of the volunteers who help in the collection.
