The City of Los Alcazares today welcomed the history of Spanish military aviation with a magnificent exhibition (23/04/2015)

The mayor of Los Alcazares, D. Anastasio Bastida and General Manager of Historical and Cultural Service of the Air Force, D. Jose Javier Muñoz Castresana this morning presented the exhibition "History of the Air," which to mark the centenary of the Spanish Military seaplane held in Los Alcazares, has been transferred from the Air Force Museum in Madrid to Los Alcazares.

It is the exhibition that was held to mark the 75th anniversary of the Air and visiting several capitals of Spain, but adapted to the event which celebrates the town during the 2015 because they have built a good number of seaplanes .

The exhibition features a unique piece in the world, and we are other than the engine of Curtiss JN-2, the seaplane taking off from the airfield of Los Alcazares in 1915, becoming, in the first flight of a military seaplane in Spain .

In 1915 came the first seaplane to Spain from the United States.

They arrived by boat to Cadiz and then were transferred to what was to be the first sea aerodrome our country, Los Alcazares.

The mayor of Los Alcazares, Anastasio Bastida explained that "this exhibition commemorates those events, now more alive than ever and offers locals the opportunity to participate, recreated in history and enjoy a unique centennial" he noted.

For its part, the General Castresana stated that "the Army Air will continue to support Centennial events and as you know, next weekend, when a number of seaplanes made the flight Pollensa-Los Alcazares and americen on the beaches of the municipality We will enjoy a unique event in Spain "he explained.

The exhibition is valued at more than 700,000 euros has almost forty models, mostly seaplanes as the Macchi M-18, the Heinkel HE-114 A2 or CANT-Z501

The exhibition will be open from today until May 4, Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 14:00 and 18:00 to 21:00 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 18:00 to 21:00 hours.
