Barreiro presents an initiative to support the commemoration of the centenary of the Los Alcazares Air Base in 2015 (05/04/2014)

The National MP PP Murcia in Congress, Pilar Barreiro, this week presented a proposition of law in order to seek support and collaboration from The Parliament and the Government of the nation in the face of events that commemorate Centennial Air Base in Los Alcazares (Cartagena) in 2015.

Specifically, the initiative seeks to support those activities that are developed during 2015 to mark the centenary, including exhibitions, conferences, exhibitions or air, and make public the importance assumed for the Region of Murcia have the first Base Seaplane Spain in 1915.

The mayor of Cartagena also recalled that "this base was established in June 1915 with the need to cooperate in military operations that were to start in North Africa, where the seaplane was supposed to be one of the main weapons aviation. "

Currently the premises are occupied by a detachment of the General Air Academy in San Javier.
