The Emergency Extrahospitalarias Cotillas Towers opens a new store (14/03/2014)

The Minister of Health and Social Policy notes that "the aim is to continue to provide quality services and provide the best health care possible"

The Emergency Department of Extrahospitalarias (SUE) Cotillas Towers, managed by the Health Emergency Management and Emergency Region, under the Murciano Health Service (SMS), opens a new store located in the Antonio Machado Street locality.

The Minister of Health and Social Policy, María Ángeles Palacios, today inaugurated the new premises accompanied by the manager of SMS, José Antonio Alarcon, director of Emergency Management and Health Emergencies, Francisco Celdran, and the mayor, Coronado Saturday.

Palacios explained that these new facilities provided by the City "for accessible to the public by improving the quality of care and allowing achieving continued coverage in the area."

So, he added, "provide better facilities to professional and better service to users."

SUE This gives health coverage to the citizens of the municipalities of Cotillas Towers, that Ceuta Alguazas and, according to the National Institute of Statistics, with a population of 39,070 inhabitants.

The Minister said the "SUE develop their usual work ensuring health coverage within the center itself and abroad."

Moreover, he added, will leave its hinterland when so determined by the Coordinating Center for Emergency care needs.

The SUE Cotillas Towers has a total area of ​​274.80 square meters spread over two floors, a reception, five queries, a waiting room, a store, a toilet and a multipurpose room, on the ground low.

The building also houses a space to locate the medicalized ambulance, so Palacios said that the center meets the specifications and equipment necessary "for professionals to provide adequate assistance to the demand generated at all times."

SUE this template is configured by a team of 29 professionals of which 10 are doctors, 10 nurses, orderlies 5 cores and 4, that will cover all those urgent assistance arising within its catchment area.

During the mornings from Monday to Saturday will be on call a team composed of a doctor, a nurse and a driver to meet the healthcare demands outside the SUE.

From 15:00 to 8:00 the next day and on Sundays and holidays throughout the day will be on call two doctors, two nurses, a guard and a driver that will assist in the SUE or out.

Management of Emergency Health of the Region of Murcia has 27 emergency departments in nine Extrahospitalarias Health Areas of the Region of Murcia.

Throughout the past year, these teams had a total of 850,855 attentions, of which 770,000 were in the SUE and 80,855 offsite of SUE.

Specifically, in 2013, the SUE Towers Cotillas performed nearly 27,000 assists and 5,170 outside the center of it, so that the total number of patients seen amounts to 31,954, with a daily average of 88 patients.

The Minister of Health and Social Policy concluded that "this performance improvement with the common aim to respond to citizens' expectations and facilitate the work of professionals in the system is maintained."
