The patchwork group of the Municipal Center Las Claras del Mar Menor has donated the receipts from the sale of their work to the Spanish Association against Cancer.
This group of women meets in the mornings at the center located in Los Narejos to do what the translation would be "great" with scraps.
German, English and Spanish residents in the town made all kinds of crafts with many colorful fabrics, blankets, rugs or cushions are some of the clothes.
The works are presented each year at Christmas in a big raffle.
The proceeds of this year was € 750 and, as is customary, has been donated to the local branch of the AECC.
At the event, the women of a new initiative patchwork, offered through the association a heart-shaped cushions to give to women who have faced breast cancer.
Initiative has been received with great enthusiasm and appreciation for the women of the AECC.
"They are a very united group, meet in the morning, and enjoy their company time to chat while stitched works of art.
In addition, all work always destined to social causes, or given away or raffled for a charity fund ... is a group of women who are truly worthy of admiration, "said the Councillor for Culture, Isabel Montesinos.
