The month of the book begins in Los Alcázares (05/04/2018)

April is par excellence the month of the book, to commemorate the Department of Culture has scheduled a dozen activities that will take place from April 13 to May 5.

The Councilor for Culture, Isabel Sarmiento explained that "it is intended to encourage and encourage reading with activities for all ages, although we have focused on the smallest, with a variety of workshops," he explained.

The activities will be differentiated into six areas;

meetings with authors, storytellers, workshops, activities for the promotion of reading, presentation of books and films.

The first of the appointments to commemorate the month of the book will take place on April 13 with the writer Paco Rabadán, one of the writers with the greatest projection in the Region of Murcia who will offer a literary workshop with humor as the protagonist.

On Monday, April 16, it will be the turn of "Wilma, The Indian Cherokee Legend", a fun and crazy storytelling for the whole family that tells the story of the first Cherokee Indian chief.

They will continue the activities with "The Pirate Adventure", a participative trip in which the adventure, the stories, the music and the movement are the main protagonists.

On April 26, chess, literature and storytelling will come together in "Jaque al Rey" a story based on the book by Juan Carlos Chacón "Check for a kingdom"

Juan Albarracín, will also participate in the month of the book of Los Alcázares, the young novelist from Lorca, author, at just 18 years of age, of two highly successful novels: Siete Trumpets and The Medici Conspiracy, which will hold a literary encounter with the assistants

For the International Book Day, April 23, the activity "My literary invisible friend" will be carried out for this, a stand will be installed in the Town Hall Square where people who wish to do so can exchange their books.

The books have to be delivered wrapped in gift paper and must have a dedication that explains the reasons why they have been important for the reader.

A "literary picnic", workshops, the presentation of books such as "Looking for reality" (Anthology of stories) by Michel Gallego Guillén, Epitaph in the arena of Antonio Cano and cinema will complete the cycle of activities.
