The Civil Guard of the Region of Murcia has developed the operation 'NARANJUELO', initiated last Sunday to clarify a sexual assault committed in Los Alcázares against a young girl, who has been dealt with the identification, location, arrest and subsequent bringing to justice Of the alleged perpetrator of the violation.

The operation began when the Benemérita was alerted of an alleged sexual assault on a young woman during the early hours of Sunday, May 14, in the Alcazareña locality.

From the first surveys it is clear that the event took place at one o'clock in the Liberty neighborhood of the coastal municipality.

The victim was reported to have left the leisure area alone with the intention of taking a taxi and going to his home when he discovered that he was being followed by an individual of Moroccan origin on a bicycle.

This individual rushed over the victim, and after immobilizing her and dragging her a few meters to a plot, she managed to undress her and complete the sexual assault.

This act lasted about five minutes and the excessive violence used by the perpetrator caused the victim to be immobilized in shock.

The author, after the violent act, left the place leaving the victim lying on the lot.

Shortly after, the latter went to a nearby taxi stand where she was aided and taken to a hospital in Cartagena, where she was examined by the Forensic Court of San Javier.

In view of the seriousness of the facts, Civil Guard Judicial Police officers, specialized in this type of cases, took the reins of the operation and carried out the first investigations at the scene of the crime to obtain all the possible information with an exhaustive technical inspection -ocular and by taking statements to indirect witnesses.

At the same time, a reconstruction of the victim's journey was carried out in the next morning, where new witnesses of the moments before the rape could be found.

As a result of the different investigations, the agents found that after the authorship of the facts invested, allegedly, was a person, of Maghreb origin, about 40 years old, about 1.70 meters tall and very dark complexion, which used to circulate By bicycle through various locations in the Mar Menor region during the early hours.

The analysis of the information obtained until that moment allowed to narrow the line of investigation on a series of candidates.

After being investigated and analyzed in detail, it was possible to identify the alleged perpetrator.

Last night, once the identity of the suspect was known and with the intention of preserving the safety of a possible future victim, the investigators established as absolute priority their location, whose search device culminated, an hour later, with their detention when the Individual was surprised by the agents circulating with the bicycle by another street of Los Alcázares.

The operation is still open with the aim of determining whether the now arrested could be involved in the commission of other crimes against sexual freedom, which, given the complex and intimate nature of such crimes, could still be reported or have been executed In other areas of the Region.

During the morning of tomorrow, it is expected that the Moroccan detainee and 40 years, and the investigations will be made available to the Court of Instruction number 5 of San Javier (Murcia), which has exercised judicial management of the operation.
