The Department of Social Policy, Equality and Major, directed by María José Benzal, loses a subsidy of 33,713.19 euros for the implementation of a specialized care point for victims of gender-based violence (PAE).
The Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities of the Region of Murcia informed the City of Los Alcázares on January 16, 2019 the granting of a subsidy aimed at the fight to eradicate gender violence in the municipality of Los Alcázares.
After the communication, on January 29 of the same year, the previous government team of the Popular Party initiated the file so that the necessary steps for the constitution will be carried out as soon as possible, of a psychologists job bank, to proceed to its hiring;
counting at all times this file with the favorable reports of the technicians of the Department of Social Policy, Equality and Majority, when fulfilling all the requirements of the concession.
It should be noted that the final confirmation of the subsidy granted to the Los Alcázares City Council is dated after the last municipal elections.
However, Councilwoman María José Benzal has made a few dates, informed the Popular Municipal Group, that said subsidy will be returned because the process of hiring the professional in charge of the specialized care point (PAE) has not been completed.
From the Popular Party, they blame this loss on the manifest negligence of the socialist government team in the face of such a sensitive issue, since we believe that there has been enough time for the start-up of said service.
The popular spokesman, Nicolás Ruiz, values ​​that “it is not only important to make visible the social scourge that involves gender violence through the different activities organized to commemorate November 25, but also direct attention to victims through the PAE mechanisms â€
He concludes by stating that “it is regrettable that the socialist government team's laziness falls on one of the most vulnerable groups.
It seems that the current team is more interested in the headlines and media actions than in carrying out effective and direct actions on any vulnerable group â€.
