Los Alcázares will host the Volunteer Awards (14/10/2019)

The Minister of Women, Equality, LGTBI, Families and Social Policy, Isabel Franco, chaired the Volunteer Advisory Council of the Region of Murcia, to convene the second edition of the Volunteer Awards, which will be delivered on November 28 in Los Alcázares , and to designate the jurors responsible for assessing the merits of the candidacies.

The purpose of these awards, which are awarded with an exclusively honorary character and do not generate any economic right, is to recognize and distinguish, publicly, those people, entities and projects that have been signified in the voluntary action in the Region of Murcia.

The Minister stressed that this year, and after the episodes that the Region has suffered as a result of the cold drop, "there will be a special mention of the selfless work of thousands of people who participated in the work of cleaning and humanitarian assistance after the passage of dana. "

The announcement of the aforementioned awards, which will be made public in the coming days, has three modalities: the individual, intended for the volunteer who has distinguished himself in the performance of volunteer activities;

the collective modality, which will fall on that volunteer entity that has stood out for the development of the voluntary action;

and finally, a volunteer project will be awarded that has stood out for its importance, innovation and / or impact on society.

The deadline for submission of applications will be 15 business days, counting from the day following the publication of the Order in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia (BORM) that will take place in the coming days.

Isabel Franco stressed the "need to make sense of the Volunteer Advisory Council by developing the Decree, which comes with a delay of ten years, and aims to value the issues and initiatives to be addressed by volunteers."

One of the priorities, he said, "is to build the entire volunteer service so that all people who want to work, in an altruistic way and help some cause, can do so effectively."

We must "feel proud of the number of people who helped after the dana passed and those who in recent days are cleaning the Mar Menor."
