The Councilor for Sports, Nicolás Ruiz Gómez, the General Director of Sports, Alonso Gómez, the organizer of the event, Aitor Jiménez and a representative of the Mar Menor Nautical Club, presented the first crossing of the three that will take place to cross the Sea Minor swimming.
The circuit of crossings will begin in Los Alcázares on September 9 with the swim crossing that will depart from the Perdiguera Island and will have as goal the Nautical Club of the municipality.
The participants will be transported by boat to the island, where they will be able to see the sunrise before diving into the water to swim across the Mar Menor.
So far, the test has 200 registered in Los Alcázares who can choose the distance they want to travel;
Open of 500 meters, Half of 1500 meters or Full of 6000 meters.
In addition, the crossing becomes a scoring test for the Regional Open Water League.
The next crossing will be San Pedro del Pinatar and San Javier, on September 30 and October 14 respectively.
It is expected that about 1,500 swimmers will participate in the Swim Mar Menor swim circuit.
The Councilor for Sports of Los Alcázares explained that "it will be a very beautiful test because of the attractiveness that implies both the number of swimmers who are going to give appointment, and the landscape that awaits them with a beautiful sunrise and crystal clear waters" he said.
